Saturday play – haiku news

Today’s challenge: write a haiku about something you’ve been doing this week.

Here are some quick ones from me …

On work
So, so much reading …
At least now I know something
Re: gifted children

On travel
Train ride is useful.
Tiring, yes, boring, yes, but
A good time to knit

On food
A creative week!
Making up recipes for
Yummy stuffed chicken*

*Take chicken thigh fillets or breast fillets. Pound out ’til thin, or slice mostly-in-half so that you can stuff with filling (either by rolling the chicken around it, or putting it into the pocket). Make a mixture of: chopped up sundried tomatoes, a bit of the oil the tomatoes came in, some chopped brie, and basil. The 3 colours should balance nicely. Sprinkle a bit of pepper in and mix well. Stuff the chicken. Toss any leftover mixture with halved cherry tomatoes, and stick it all in the oven (roughly 190 degrees C) for 20 minutes or so. Delicious.

What have you been doing this week?
